- Part of this role includes recruitment, induction, and training of staff to ensure appropriate levels of staff match practitioner availability in conjunction with the team leader the position falls under and also includes the determination of the work of these staff, including position definition, task types and task allocation in response to the needs of the practice.
- This position will review the performance of staff in conjunction with Team Leaders (Administration and Clinical) and the training of staff as appropriate.
- The role will address employee issues and concerns by maintaining pro-active and responsive relations in order to achieve a high rate of employee satisfaction and performance and will encourage a productive team environment to fit the positive culture of the practice.
- You will work within staffing budgets provided by the Business Manager and prepare fortnightly wage summary for finance to process staff pays and benefits.
- You will design and implement marketing programs to advertise business services and actively promote and develop a public image for the business.
- You will be responsible for the operational management of a large, fast-paced medical practice and this role requires demonstrated experience to succeed.
The Practice Manager is expected to have demonstrated achievement or capability in the areas listed above along with:
- A broad understanding of the requirements of a small to medium business.
- Strong English interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Leadership and team-building experience.
- Ability to devise and review systems for operational efficiency and control.
- Skills in accounting and business reporting.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and employment conditions.
- Commitment to continuing education.
- Decision making competence and reliability.
- Working effectively under pressure.
- Minimum tertiary qualifications in relevant discipline.
- Understanding of the current and future role of medical practitioners or relevant healthcare professionals within the industry.
- Understanding of the roles of medical, nursing and allied health representative bodies such as AMA, RANZCO, Medical Boards and Health Care Complaints Commission with regard to patient complaints.
